Recorders

There’s something for everyone in the Recorder section, children and young people, adults, families, recorder groups and composers.

Schools please note: The section includes a wide range of special non-competitive classes, (with adjudication but no awards), to encourage the widest participation. The range of non-competitive classes now includes Solos, Duets, Trios, Ensembles, Teacher and Pupil duets, Ensembles and Family recorder duets/trios/quartets/quintets. There is also a special Duet/Trio class for Senior Citizens

Competitive classes cover Descant, Treble, Tenor and Bass recorders. There are unaccompanied and accompanied solo classes, categorised by age, ranging from age 9 and under up to age 18. Amongst other classes for recorder groups is a Family Recorder Duet/Trio/Quartet/Quintet.

The Recorder section also features a series of Recital and Open classes, Sonata, Suite or Concerto, and 20th or 21st Century music.
