Rebecca Austen-Brown

Rebecca studied in the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, specialising in recorders and early fiddles. She was awarded an Associate in 2017.

Rebecca has recorded and toured with many ensembles; most recently The Sixteen, Dufay Collective, I Fagiolini Arcangelo, and La Nuova Musica. She has played in London venues such as the Southbank, and Buckingham Palace, as well as travelling throughout Europe, the US, South America and the Far East.

As a founder member of the Fontanella Recorder Quintet and Bardos Band, she has recorded for BBC Radio. Theatre work includes touring with The Young Vic and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

She is a regular film session musician and can be heard on soundtracks including The Hobbit, Les Miserables, and Grand Hotel Budapest.

Rebecca teaches at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, and has given classes in Oxford University, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Birmingham University and Conservatoire, and is in demand as a regular guest adjudicator in Hong Kong and the UK.
