Jane trained as a soprano at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and then at the Royal College of Music where she won many competitions for Lieder and an award for excellence in English Song. She worked with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa in her national competition as a semi finalist in 2009. She performs recitals across the country and has toured South Africa and Europe.
Currently Jane teaches at Chelsea Academy and Imperial College. She is a former section leader at the National Youth Choir of Great Britain then went on to form and conduct the Flora Gardens Youth Choir in London until 2010. Jane gives master classes in the UK and abroad the next being at the Leeds College of Music. She is the founder of the South London Theatre Voice Competition for training singers and actors.
Jane has had many leading operatic roles for various companies, her latest being the title role in Theodora by Handel. Recently she has been specialising in contemporary opera and has premiered many productions, working alongside composers on new works for the stage and for recordings at opera festivals. She has released various recordings from Baroque to folk and frequently provides vocals for ‘experimental’ music across all genres.
